Septic Dye Test

Home septic systems consist of plumbing, septic tanks, and leach fields. The plumbing removes waste water from the home and deposits it into a septic tank. The tank contains bacteria, which breaks down organic solids. The remaining liquid is distributed to a leach field which lets effluent flow into the soils of your property. Septic systems require regular maintenance. Reducing the amount of soaps and grease from washing machines, sinks and dishwashers, will extend the life of your system. Tanks should be pumped, to remove sludge, preventing this from clogging the leach field. Professionals recommend this to be done every 1 to 3 years depending on the size of the tank and the occupancy of the home.

The Septic Dye Test performed by Castle to Cottage Home Inspections Inc. is a visual site inspection and a septic loading dye test. Visit Home Buyer's Detailed Guide to Septic Systems - Buying a Home With a Septic Tank for more information.
